How much trouble could I get in with the cops for making a rope swing off of a bridge?

There's a nice little bridge near my house. The water under it is about 15 feet deep.


My friends and I want to make a rope swing on it. How much trouble could we get in?


What would we specifically get in trouble for?


I live in NY state if it helps.|||When I was young, some friends of mine jumped off - and did back flips - into deep water from a bridge on the main street into town.





A cop came to chase them away - and they left - just ahead of the cop. There was no chase, arrest, or fine.





I am guessing that in most sane places, you would get scolded by the police and told not to do it again. If you were a repeat offender - they might get more annoyed. People have a higher tolerance for young, naive, youthful pranks than you might imagine when you are young, naive and youthful.





On the other hand - you might get grounded.|||Make sure your health insurance is paid up.|||The only sure way to find out is to try it. Let us know.|||I would say they would probably just chase you off and make you take it down. The state doesn't want anyone dying on their bridge.|||More than just the cops, If someone got hurt or died you could be sued for libel, That would probably be your parents because they are held accountable for there children. They could loose there home and life savings.|||DUDE, you know how fun that'd be?
