How can I change the seat of a patio swing from fabric to wood?

The fabric on our patio swing has ripped several times. The metal frame is still perfectly intact, and I'm looking for plans to build a wooden seat that will easily attach to it.|||Very easy project. take your measurements cut a piece of 3/4 inch plywood to fit. if there are holes in the metal bars mark through them on to the plywood then drill a hole for a nut and bolt to attach. if the frame doesn't have hole already you'll have to drill through both wood and frame at the same time to insure they all line up. easiest way is to use c-clamps or vise grips. plus a helper. once you are satisfied the board will line-up then you should use a good primer to seal it. paint it creatively, i painted mine light brown with a dark brown half inch stripe next to the edge. looks great. oh and for the bolts i used 1/4" carriage bolts with nylock nuts so they would sit flush with the board. have fun
