What does the swing against the Coalition in the Australian Senate mean?

Austraila's recent federal election produced the closest result in Australian history, with neither major party gaining a majority in the House of Representatives and both losing ground in the Senate to the Greens.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_鈥?/a>

Why was there a swing towards the Coalition nationally in the House of Representatives, but against then nationally in the Senate?|||Partially, the fact that the Coalition lost so many senators was just an effect of the Australian system in which Senators are generally elected for a double (six year) term, and the 2004 election saw record numbers of Coalition senators. Indeed, they had a majority, which is very unusual in Australia given the Senate voting system.

However, this doesn't yet answer your question, which is about the swing away from the Coalition (as well as Labor) in the Senate when compared with 2007. I think the answer to this lies partially in a significant portion of the electorate highly dissatisfied with both major parties' responses to climate change. The ALP were heavily punished for ditching their ETS (Rudd lost his leadership and the ALP lost their majority, and possibly their right to govern). But the Coalition are also being punished by some voters for ditching Turnbull and their last vestiges of credibility on the issue. Even some conservatives actually care about conservation and think that the command and control policies advocated by Abbott belong in the playbook of the far left, not the centre-right. They remember that it was Reagan's administration that championed market-based solutions to climate and find it odd that the right have now abandoned such strategies.

Or maybe I'm just projecting. :-)|||It means there was an upset, something happened to the Coalitions' surprise, like:

The Coalition gained in Queensland, NSW and Tasmania which took the government to 38 seats - one seat away from a majority in the upper house, and the Democrats were decimated, losing all three sitting senators up for re-election in Queensland, Western Australia and NSW, cutting its numbers to four. And early figures showed the coalition winning three Senate seats in Western Australia and possibly a fourth which would give it control of the Senate.

But wait a minute, the Greens were set to boost their numbers to three in the Senate, with former state MP and environmentalist Christine Milne within reach of a full quota, yeah, and One Nation's Len Harris, independent Shayne Murphy and Australian Progressive Alliance leader Meg Lees looked highly likely to lose their seats, but to save the day, the Labor frontbencher Senator Stephen Conroy said the result would make the government less accountable and they won it.

Something like that anyways, and there's your punch or swing agains the Coalition.

A swing in this instance is when you think you've won it and something happens where you don't.

How fast to swing a bucket to keep dry?

You tie a cord to a pail of water, and you swing the pail in a vertical circle of radius 0.900 .

How do I prepare a tire for making a swing?

I have a huge oak tree in the back yard and I want to put up a tire swing for my 2 youngest children(ages 8 and 10).I'm wondering what are the proper steps to take in order to keep the tire from getting the kids clothes dirty/black.Any suggestions that are proven to be effective?|||You can clean the tire off with nothing more than soap and water before hanging it, and drill holes in the bottom of the tire to let rainwater drain out. You'll still need to clean leaves out of the tire from time to time. Bottom line is that kids will sit on top of the tire to sit / spin, they'll smack into the tree, they'll lay through the tire and swing / spin while watching the ground (then stagger away %26amp; fall if they're dizzy from spinning ;-) the possibilities are endless!

Bottom line is that it's a tire swing and they're gonna get dirty.

What force does the runner's hand exert on each weight at the bottom of the swing?

As part of a training program, an athlete runs while holding 6.50 kg weights in each hand. As he runs, the weights swing through a 30.0 arc in 1/3 s. His hands are 72 cm from his shoulder joint, and they are light enough that we can neglect their weight compared with that of the 6.50 kg weight he is carrying.|||Angular Speed of swinging weight(w) = pi/180 * 30 /(1/3)

How old do you have to be to attend swing dancing lessons?

Im 13 and I REALLY Want to dance! Is this still a ok age for me to swing dance?|||You can start younger than 13! So start now!

The question is though, what kind of swing dancing do you want to learn? (There's more than one!)

Most people start off learning, "East Coast Swing" which has a 6-count basic, and is the most common form of swing dancing that can be found being taught. Here's a video going over some of the basics:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Si7YFo3Sj鈥?/a>

If you enjoy dancing to traditional "swing music" then you will want to learn East Coast Swing and eventually move on to "Lindy Hop". Lindy Hop is the original swing dance from the 1930s and 1940s, and it's also the dance that created air steps (aka aerials).

Here's what Lindy Hop looks like at medium tempo:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdgaVz56h鈥?/a>

and here's what fast Lindy Hop looks like with air steps, being danced by pro dancers:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myJj0mNNe鈥?/a>

Don't be intimidated by the air steps, you can learn them eventually, if you want, but first it's important that you get the dancing part down.

Other traditional swing dances include: Charleston, Balboa, and Collegiate Shag (you can look them up if you are curious).

Now, if you are more into modern music, rather than traditional swing music, then "West Coast Swing" would probably be more enjoyable for you. West Coast Swing is an evolved form of Lindy Hop, and it's focus is about being smooth and cool. Here's what it looks like:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3ZxiPKma鈥?/a>

Other modern swing dances include: Carolina Shag, DC Hand Dancing, and Ceroc (Modern Jive)

If you like all of these dances, you can learn all of them, so it's better you start sooner rather than later! :-)

If you want to talk about swing dancing, or learn more about it, check out the National Swing Dance Forum:

Where is the best place to get vintage inspired swing dress patterns?

I'm getting married in October and would like to make my own dress. We are having a 50's theme wedding and I am looking for 50's swing dress patterns, new patterns that is. Where online can I look?|||Butterick carries a line of retro patterns, available on their website or at any fabric store. Also try McCall's, Simplicity, Vogue, etc. If you're near a Wal-Mart or fabric store, check the pattern books, usually in the costume index.|||If you're making a wedding dress, look for wedding dress paterns (stay away from costume patterns!). Most modern pattern books have "classic" patterns where the style goes back to the 40's, so theres no need to go looking for vintage patterns.

http://www.weddingpatterns.com/frame.asp

But before you go diving into the patterns, you should know the history of the fashion from the era!

The bride of the 1950s had a plethora of choices for weddings were now big business. Ultra formal weddings were the norm, and for the first time in the twentieth century, wedding dressmakers stopped basing their designs on the most popular styles of day or evening wear. Designers preferred to create Cinderella-like fantasies, with fitted bodices, cinched-in waistlines, and huge skirts ballooning out from underneath. To wear these dresses properly, a bride needed to wear layers of hoop skirts or the combination of a cinch-waist corset and a foundation garment called a bombast, which made the dress spring out from the waist. This type of dress usually came in 2 lengths, to the floor and the popular ballerina length that stopped at the lower calf and looked like a long tutu. Wedding fabric ranged from formal bridal satins and shantungs to light tulle and organdies. Dresses had either long fitted sleeves, short cap sleeves or were completely strapless. Veils in the 1950s were short and billowy. Most were between elbow and flyaway length. Popular headpieces of the era included princess-like crowns, Juliet caps and half-caps.

Examples of a 50's style wedding dress:

http://www.revampvintage.com/images/paul鈥?/a>

http://www.revampvintage.com/images/paul鈥?/a>

Using this as an example, you can start looking for the designs you want (I say design, because when I make a dress, I often take the top of one pattern, the shoulder and sleeves of another pattern, and the bottom of another pattern to make the dress in the style I'm looking for).

If you want more examples of 50's era fashion (other than wedding dresses), then check out this page:

Now that you have an idea of what you are going to make for your dress, time to start thinking about how to do your hair!

Hair was a big deal in the 1950's, and had a very unique look, so you'll have to learn how to do your hair (or have it done) right by going to this website:

http://www.nocturne.com/swing/hair/hair.鈥?/a>

They have step by step instructions and photos on how to style your hair (or have your hair done for you!).

The first thing you have to do is determine if you can do the style that you want . Hair was cut to the same length everywhere on the head (so i you have too short of hair, or bangs, you won't be able to do these hair styles). Long hair is ok, and actually a good thing because it let's you do more with your hair. Also don't worry about dying your hair a certain color. Back then natural was the only way to go (that or blue!).

To prep your hair, you'll need to curl it (don't use a curling iron). You'll want to use "Setting Lotion" when you curl your hair with sponge curlers or pin curls to get your curls to be uniform (let set until dry, or sleep in your curlers). When you curl your hair, you'll also want to do it in layers as indicated on the website (think rows of where you want to put rolls). You'll want a row of curls (curling the hair back) that follows your face around the top and sides.

When styling your hair, don't get frustrated if it takes a while. You will need a lot of hair spray and bobby pins. Even using this, your hair may not do what you want it to do, because it takes a while to train your hair to style the way you want it to.

You'll probably want some waves or curls on the front top and sides, then put the rest of your hair in a hair net or snood (you'll want to brush it out big after you curle it so that it fills the hair net uniformly).

Practice, practice, practice! As you style your hair like this more often, it becomes easier, and your hair easier to manage. I have a friend who does WWII reinacting and she can put her hair in pin curls while driving to work!

I hope that helps!

What force does the runner's hand exert on each weight at the bottom of the swing?

As part of a training program, an athlete runs while holding 9.00 kg weights in each hand. As he runs, the weights swing through a 30.0 degree arc in 1/3 sec. His hands are 72 cm from his shoulder joint, and they are light enough that we can neglect their weight compared with that of the 9.00 kg weight he is carrying.|||From a free body diagram We have F - m*g = m*r*蠅^2 (centripetal acceleration)

where 蠅 = 30*蟺/180/(1/3) = 1.57 rad/s

So F = m*(g + r*蠅^2) = 9.00*(9.80 + 0.72*(1.57)^2) = 104N

What is the best way to ask another couple if they want to swing?

My wife and I want to try swinging lol, and we don't know how to bring this idea up to the couple we want to swing with, any advice?|||Whoever has the best connection with the other couple should do the talking, so as to avoid any misunderstandings. Plant a seed, and do one of the following-

Watch porn together

Go hot tubbing in the nude (no alcohol)

Go to a swingers event

Play an adult game (strip poker)

Swinging can be a fun and couple strengthening thing to do for the right couple. Just make sure your friends are on par with you.|||This kind of arrangement is best made between the ladies. They are usually the hardest to convince to do it. So if they discuss it and want it, the rest is easy. The guys stay out of it until the decision is made.

What are some ways to consistently release my golf swing?

It seems to be a major problem in my swing I am consistently late on the release. Therefore I hit a weak fade.|||Swing the club head from the top of the back swing. Try to get the club head to the ball before your hands get there. If you pull the club through the ball with your body, you will always struggle with the release - swing the club head first and stay behind the ball til you hit it.|||Practice, practice, practice.|||I was taught a 6 point check list on your swing....the book by Tiger Woods "How I play golf", has some great illustrations....What helps me the most is to bring my club back until my shoulder hits my chin, and not to lift my head until my other shoulder hits my chin....try it ! Also, when my club is almost at its peak....the barrel should be pointing down to the ball for good alignment....|||I do a couple of things: Feel like I am hitting the ball with the toe of the club. Where can I find sling swing with canopy replacement parts?

I have a 3-person outdoor sling swing with canopy and I need to replace the canopy. I cannot find a site which sells these. There is nothing by the swing brand. Any help?|||Susan . . .

We have had the same problem for years. We have also replaced the canopy every 3 or so years because sun light destroys the fabric.

We could have a replacement made at an awning shop, an upholstery shop, and a place that makes curtains. All would charge an arm. Some an arm and a leg. And others two arms, etc.

We found suitable fabric at a fabric store.

We used the old canopy as the pattern and (even though we are not seamstresses) made a replacement canopy. The first one was not really an example of craftsmanship, but it wasn't bad. The next one was better. Our neighbor talked sweet and we made one for them. We're getting better and saving a bunch of money in the process. PS: the second one easier. :-)|||try www.gardenwinds.com. How to swing your sword faster then normal on halo 3?

Recently me and my friend were playing team swords on multi team and everytime we swung at the other team and we would hit at the same time they were awlays able to swing again and kill us before we even were done with our first swing.|||Well i'm assuming that you know pressing the B button makes you swing faster than the right trigger button. If you don't know then...

Right trigger - longer range (you lunge at them) but it takes longer for you to be able to swing again

B button - quick swing, but slightly less acurate and you have to get in close enough to hit them (you don't lunge at them)

Also it sometimes comes down to luck and position. Try moving around during a sword fight, and you might be able to get them when they miss. Also just keeping mashing the B button like crazy. And NEVER stop facing them...unless they die for some reason|||haha there is no way to swing faster its all in the timing. trust me. the other person must have swung a lil bit b4 you. guy above me is incorrect the b button is not a strike like you say the others were doing. and combining the b and r button will do nothing. the b button is useful however if you are relatively close to the person you are about to beat down.|||Where most other players lunge, try only using the B button to swing. It makes you swing slightly faster when repeatedly pressing the button. You have a shorter lunge, so wait a little bit longer, then slice at them at least twice and you should kill them first.|||B makes you go faster but does not lunge|||B button swings faster|||Use the B button. What is the tension in the string at the bottom of the swing?

A pendulum is 0.5 m long and the bob has a mass of 1.0 kg. At the bottom of its swing, the bob's speed is 1.2 m/s. What is the tension in the string at the bottom of the swing?|||assumptions

: the rope has no a wight ( or light )

there are two forces acting on the rope

1. weight of bob

2. centrifugal force due to cicular motion of the sysytem

weight of bob = mass* accelaration dueto gravity

= 1 * 9.81

=9.81 N

centrifugal force = mass * tangential velocity^2 / radius

= 1 * (1.2)^2 / 0.5

as both these forces are balanced by the rope the tension is the sum of these two

How to make a door swing close NOT open?

The room doors around here, when left alone swing open. How can i reverse this and get them to swing closed?

Is there somtihng i could buy for the hinges?|||I've hung doors for years. Often the door will swing open or closed because the hinge side of the frame was not installed plumb (level up and down). Sometimes this happens because the wall is out of plumb (leaning towards the direction that the door tends to fall).

Put a level (up and down ways) on the frame and the wall at the hinge area and see.

The correct way to fix it is to rehang the door. There sometimes is a way to take the hinge pins out and tweak (slightly bend) the hinges just enough to put a little resistance on the hinges which in turn keeps the door from falling opened or closed.

Would be best not to try this trick yourself probably unless you're mechanically inclined.

Also make sure it's not being caused by your heater/air conditioner moving air thru the house creating suctions.|||I've seen but not used spring loaded hinges. I think some are complete hinges, usually just the top one on each door. There may be a replaceable spring loaded hinge pin as well. Try searching for those.|||there are spring hinges that look and install just like regular hinges and you can set the tension to how strong you want. check your local home store.|||It may appear that the door is not plumb and level, this may be solved by rehanging the door and making it level to the jam...for more door tips...|||Loosen the screws on the top hinge that go into the jamb.Slip a Popsicle stick behind the hinge %26amp; tighten the screws|||yes try home depot|||Put a spirit level on your door frame most probably it is not exactly verticle causing the weight of the door to alter its natural swing|||Regarding the option of spring loaded hinges, I have purchased some that are *only* the pin portion of the hinge (not the whole hinge). Can you remove the pin portion of the hinges? If so, these will work if they are the same size pins.

I purchased a bucket type tree swing with chain handles online. After wrapping the chain around the tree limp how do you hold the two pieces of chain together.|||S hooks from the hardware store . How much trouble could I get in with the cops for making a rope swing off of a bridge?

There's a nice little bridge near my house. The water under it is about 15 feet deep.

A cop came to chase them away - and they left - just ahead of the cop. There was no chase, arrest, or fine.

I am guessing that in most sane places, you would get scolded by the police and told not to do it again. If you were a repeat offender - they might get more annoyed. People have a higher tolerance for young, naive, youthful pranks than you might imagine when you are young, naive and youthful.

On the other hand - you might get grounded.|||Make sure your health insurance is paid up.|||The only sure way to find out is to try it. How can I get my baby to sleep in her crib instead of the swing?

My baby is 2 1/2 months old and she's always slept in the swing all night and all naps. Now I am trying for her to sleep in her crib. Any tips on doing this transition would be much appreciated.

Thanks!|||Let her rock in the swing until she starts falling asleep, you know the eyes droop and all. Then pick her up out of there and sway back and forth as you take here to her bed. she will hopefully fall asleep again as you are swaying and just put her in there. it will take a couple/few days for here to adjust and once she does start sleeping in the bed, just make sure to put her there. A routine helps. rock for awhile, then before she falls asleep, you take her out and into bed. good luck|||Been there! :)

Just keep trying! My son refused to sleep in his crib, but I just kept trying at least once a day - I would get him asleep/almost there and lay him in the crib, he would usually scream right away, I would stay with him a few minutes to see if he would settle, and if not I would let him have the swing - and after a week, he just magically decided the crib was comfy and has been sleeping there ever since!

Every now and then though he still falls asleep in his swing...

Best of Luck....and don't worry it will happen.|||i just transfered my 6 month old baby out of my bed into he pack and play beside my bed. i put up the bassinet piece in it and suprisingly it went very well. try and put her crib beside your bed to see if this transition will help. your probably just going to have to stick out a few rough nights. good luck!|||I agree with Blaze Baby. How many elections does it take for a swing state to become a political party dominate state?

Example, Michigan is a swing state, and has voted democratic for the past two (maybe three... don't quote me) elections. My question is how many elections have to occur, with the same vote, before it becomes a dominant democratic, republican, etc. state?|||The people also factor into that equation. Michigan has a substantial black population that will almost always vote democrat. Along with all the factory workers who traditionally vote democrat. Then you have Texas with a very large christian population who vote republican. Nevada is a good example. In most Presidential elections since becoming a state, Nevada has gone republican. Most of the rural NV counties are conservative, so they vote republican. But Washoe and Clark Counties(Reno and Las Vegas) have a substantial liberal population and have an population out numbering the rest of the state. So NV can become a swing state because of the ratio of conservative to liberal.

How do you improve your hand and tempo to improve golf swing?

Like the question! How do I actually improve in golf swing? does my hand positioning needs replacing? and what sort of tempo should I move at? I often swing so hesitated , is it about confidence???|||Obviously, we know that the hands grip the golf club and attach the body to the club. But what is the importance of them during the swing?

The answer has to do with releasing of the club. Let's go at some quick golf biomechanics review. During the swing, from address position to follow-through, the hands are active in a passive type of manner.

Let me explain. The goal of the golf swing is to move the club on the correct swing plane to induce the intended golf shot that you want. This occurs through the body's moving through a series of positions. These positions are found within the different phases of the golf swing.

The phases of the swing are address, take-away, backswing, transition, downswing, impact, and follow-through. During all of these movements the body is performing, the golf club is being moved upon a swing plane. The swing plane is the path upon which the golf club is to travel. Proper impact with the golf ball requires the golf club's traveling upon the correct swing plane.

In order for the club to travel on the correct swing plane it is necessary for the clubface to open and close. Oftentimes, in golf terms the opening and closing, of the clubface is termed "releasing of the club." This is where the hands become an integral part of the golf swing.

This allows the hips to fully rotate . when i finish my swing I'm on the outside edge of my left foot. What causes you to pull is a rotation of the hips before shifting forward . Imagine a pad a few inches infront of your hip. you want to bump that pad before you start to rotate the hips. During the swing you shift your weight forward and then rotate the hips through. If we don't shift the hips forward and we just turn, then the shoulders have to follow along and thats how we pull shots.|||Seems like you're not balanced on the balls of your feet and your weight isn't distributed correctly. The only way for your front foot to be moving and opening up is if all your weight transfers to your back leg and you then step in transition like a baseball swing to shift your weight. Try placing your weight on the balls of your feet and tilt your body forward over the ball with weight distributed 65% or so toward the front leg at address and pivot around the spine while turning your waist and then let the legs follow naturally. Practice this turn motion will a medicine ball or other ball and make sure your feet do not move.

good luck|||Your hips are opening too soon which causes your stance to open...and there goes your left foot. This often happens when the golfer is concerned with watching to see where the ball is going before he/she actually hits the ball. Don't anticipate watching the ball after you make contact. Concentrate on staying focussed on keeping your head down and looking down the "V" of your arms, then after contact and follow through pick the ball up in the air. This will keep your hips in sinc with your swing and your front foot will not drift.|||A pro tip is to keep the arms straight going into the ball, moving the hips and shoulders in the turn, and place the left foot 1" or 2' in a left angle outward so it will allow full contact with the club head. Your body will give impetus to the club and the ball will go true down the fairway,

How can I break the dependancy my 7 week old baby seems to have developed for her baby swing?

My 7 weeks old daughter is totally dependent on her baby swing! She won't sleep unless swinging in it for the ENTIRE duration of her sleep. If put her in her bassinet or crib to sleep she sleeps very light and usually wakes up within 2-5 minutes time. The only other way we can get her to stay sleeping is if we hold her the whole time. Any advice?|||my daughter did the same thing with her bouncy chair...we felt like horrible parents at first because before you knew it she was sleeping at night in the floor beside our bed in her bouncy chair....(it vibrates) she grew out of it about a month later...she will get sick of it trust me...try a bouncy seat and bounce her to sleep with the vibrator on...at least she is not in constant motion while sleeping....try elevation on her head like a boppy pillow ...maybe she likes sleeping with her head up....don't worry it's just a phase..IT WILL PASS!|||I do not see a problem with her baby swing. If that's how she chooses to sleep at this age, let it be. You get your rest and she gets hers! It's a win-win situation. I wouldn't advocate holding her constantly for her to sleep. As she gets older, you will once again try to get her to sleep in her crib. Each child is different and she is young at 7 months. Just enjoy her and let her sleep in the swing!

I bought my daughter a bassinet that does swing.|||They do make bassinets that will rock, maybe the movement is what she needs to soothe her. I know my oldest son was attached to the swing and would only sleep there or in his bouncer seat with the vibrations on for a long time. He also liked being held to sleep but it never failed that if he fell asleep in his bed he would wakeup in a few minutes but if held, bounced, rocked or in the swing he could sleep 1-3 hrs no problem.|||My niece did this... they soon learned it was the sound of the swing, rather then being in the swing.

Maybe you can try laying her in the bed or place you want her to sleep and run the swing. See if it works. She may need that white sound.

Other then that... You could just let her rest in the swing. It holds her and moves her.... maybe not as tight as your belly. But she finds some connection in it.|||My baby kept waking up after short naps even through the night so at 10 days old we put him in the bed with us and the change has been amazing he has been sleeping through the night since 8 weeks old, He feels safe and secure, warm and it must be very comforting to him with other heart beats maybe thats why she likes the swing to much ( it 's like your holding her) try her in the bed. My baby also likes to sleep on his belly rather than back. Do what works for you, this is only my experience but now we all get sleep|||humans are conditioned behaviorally in a 2 week time frame. You have to sit in a rocker at nap time/bedtime dim the lights put on the same lullabye tape everytime and rough through the next 2 weeks conditioning her to learn a new way to sleep|||she's 7 weeks old!! continue using the swing, but not for bedtime. put her in the crib or bassinet.

How do i keep the club face closed on my golf swing?

I seemed to have developed a slice on my golf swing and can't sort it out. I think i've got it down to opening the club face on my down swing. Has anyone got any ideas how to solve this?|||One thing you might try is to practice swinging with just upper body and if the ball flies straight the problem may be that you are clearing your hips through the shot before the club face is coming through. If that's not the problem it may be that the club is sliding in your hand. Another possibility is that you may be opening your wrists so make sure you keep them strong and rotate them through the shot. If you are still stumped, the best solution would be to have a friend watch your shot to see what you are doing.|||There are two variables in your swing that will determine the ball flight. First is swing path, this will determine which way your ball will start.( left, straight, or right) Second the club face(open, straight, or closed) this determines the spin on the ball.

If you are hitting a slice like 99 percent of the players out there your ball is starting out left and going right! To fix this problem go to the driving range and set up with your club face square to a target, and your back facing paralell to the target with your feet staggered. This will force you to swing on the opposite swing path, and also make your right hand turn over your left producing a draw. Slowly bring your stance back to a normal allignment. Good Luck and remember it takes the body 21 days to remember a change so don't get discuraged.|||First you should check your swing plane. This is kind of difficult to tell all by yourself so have someone watch or video tape your swing. This is one big reason why the club face is open at impact.

Also check your grip. A weak grip has your thumbs at 12:00 while a strong grip has your thumbs a little further back 1 or 2 o'clock. The strong grip will help in closing the club face through impact.|||Apparently your arms are way ahead of your hips, thus opening the club face. Make sure that you plant the lead foot first when starting the downswing with the hip turn as well as the arms synchronized so that dropping from the inside to impact and hit through the ball. Hit through the ball with a full follow through and high finish.|||dont cock your wrists early...i have the same problem that you have and my fault is that i cock my wrists early in my swing.

when you take the club back--imagine you are takin it back with your shoulders, and try to keep your wrists in a fixed position. they will naturaly hinge at the right spot.

i hoped this helped you out. obviously no one on YA can tell you what is wrong without seeing your swing--but maybe if you try all of our suggestions it will help your game out some.

What is a good tip to maintain good tempo during golf swing?

For putting...i use the method...4 inches back=10 ft roll...and say peanut during the backswing and follow thru with butter...any similar tips for the golf swing? Been getting pretty good results with this....anything similar to this for a full golf swing?|||Confucius say...

...see bad shot!"|||I've heard people say to themselves "17"

seven on the backswing and teen on the downswing

Good luck|||a slight pause on the top of the swing while giveyou good tempo. also, try quarter swing back and quarter thru and check yardage carry. try half and half etc....

....and don't look up, as what the other poster said and to quote confucius "he who looks up ... see's bad shot" hahahahah really funny.|||I try to hum a song. This usually sets the tempo.|||The best method is to be rewarded for good shots. Next time you have a perfect 7 iron shot to the green, take a six iron and tell yourself to hit it half speed. You can't really do it, but try to swing slower back and through so as not to make the six go over the green. You will find that by slowing down you hit it so much more solidly that the shot will still probably be long, but you start to feel how good you can hit it with a smooth tempo. That is the key to making that slower swing consistently - knowing how solid you will hit it and what a good result it will bring.|||this may sound daft but on your backswing start humming like a bee and keep the same tempo through your followthrough this is what pro's are taught.HHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMM|||Try DOLLAR BILLS, that's what I use, from the movie Tin Cup.|||Learn to feel your swing... backwards and forwards. Forget mechanics assuming you already have the correct fundamentals incorporated into your golf swing.|||I believe good tempo means to properly go through the body sequencing ie transfer weight, rotate hips, shoulders, arms, hands and club.

This goes wrong when I want to bash the cr@p out of the ball.

Surprisingly the tempo of your breathing has an effect on the tempo of your swing.

.|||Just Relax!!!! It will come naturally|||For me, tempo gets off when they're is another issue. In other words, poor tempo is a symptom of another problem. How do I build a simple machine to swing a bat?

We are comparing bat performance for a 5th grade science fair project, and need something to swing a bat the same way each time.|||I can't fathom "bat performance".

If you had 2 bats, 1 heavy and 1 light, but swing them both exactly the same distance and with the same speed, to hit such as a ball, that is identical for both bats, would it not impart exactly the same force to the ball?

The only difference (slight), could be in the surface composition, e.g. if one bat had a rubber face and another solid steel.|||you dont|||knowledge in motors and controls would be a help. i dont think you have covered this subject matter yet since your still in 5t grade.

How long does your baby stay in a swing or bouncer before they start to fuss and demand to be let out?

What else do you have to put them in and how long do they stay? Also how old are they?

My daughter will be 3 months in a few days and will stay in her swing sometimes hours, usually falls asleep after about 5 minutes. her bouncer, 30 minutes maybe.

just a fun question, kinda bored right now|||My little one loved his swing in the beginning and spent numerous hours napping. He didn't enjoy the vibration chair as much and would make it known he was done after a shorter period of time. He went through a phase where he didn't want to be in the swing at all (around 4 months). Now he is napping in his swing during the day for up to 2 hours. He is six months old and sleeps through the night in his crib most nights (about 11 hours) so I don't make him sleep in his crib for his naps during the day. This has worked for the past 2 months. If it needs to be changed in the future then we will roll with the punches.|||My daughter is only 5 weeks now but she will stay in her swing maybe 15 minutes if she doesn't fall asleep. We usually set her bouncer chair on the table and she will sit in it while we have dinner, she used to only last like 5 minutes, but yesterday she discovered that whenever she kicked her feet the music and lights came on and so we've gotten a good 30 minutes out of it the last two nights! It was amazing to watch her figure this out and so cute!|||When my son would fall asleep in the swing, it would be hours sometimes, but as soon as he woke up he wanted out. Now he is 7 months old and we have moved naps up to his crib. I tried to use the swing as someplace to play or as down time but even with the 5 point harness he tries to make it bounce and I am worried he will break it! So the swing is now dismantled and the seat portion is a temporary baby barrier to keep him away from some blinds, a power outlet and a heating vent along with his old school bouncy chair (no batteries) that he learned at 5 months how to undo the velcro.

So we have the exersaucer, the bouncing activity center from Baby Einstein, his playpen and an open area on the floor (only with supervision since there is no way to properly gate him off). It all depends on his mood, some days he will spend over an hour in one of his play areas, other days it's 5 minutes and then get me out and play with me! At 3 months my son was too little for the saucer and we didn't have the bouncer yet. He spent a lot of time on his play mat on the floor, in my arms or asleep in the swing.|||My son stays in his bouncer for about 20-30 minutes. The swing depends - if he falls asleep he'll stay there for a couple hours, otherwise about a half hour or so.

I also put him on his playmat, he usually only stays there for about 15 minutes. We also have a tummy time mat, but the most he ever stays on that is 5 minutes tops, no matter what I do. Maybe when he's a little older he'll like it more.

He's 2 months.|||Usually half hour tops. Then she wants out.|||she'll let you know when she's had enough!

How many west coast swing dancers are there in the world?

If not the world, US is fine. Or US, Australia and Europe. I'm looking specifically at West Coast Swing Dancers, not ballroom or "swing" dancers. Must be "West Coast Swing" Dancers. They can dance other dances, but must know how to do basic West Coast Swing. West Coast Swing is a style and is not limited to the west coast of the U.S. Thank you!|||wow that's going to be hard to know.

I do all ballroom dances, plus ECS, and lindy hop which is what WCS originated from.

I CAN do WCS but I prefer ECS because I'm better at it -- so does that make me a WCS dancer?

There are probably 500 people in my "social dance group" and the majority can do some basic WCS, though not all can do it very well (me included)|||West Coast Swing is the ultimate dancers' dance. You can use skills learned from virtually all other forms of dance. It is a lead/follow dance that requires a good connection between leader and follower. West Coast Swing is constantly evolving and changing and can be easily danced to much comtemporary music.

Learning the dance does require some effort, but once you have learned "connection," you are 90% there.

Everyday people are discovering the joys of the dance. I hope there are more West Coast Swing dancers today than yesterday. I meet new WCS dancers every week and I hope this trend continues.

What's the best choice for a swing set? Metal, wood or plastic?

I'm planning on buying a swing set for my niece and cousins, but I don't know what kind. I live in an area that rains a lot, but gets hot during the summer. I want them to be able to play on it year round. If I get a wood one, do I have to worry about splinters? A metal one, will it rust or get sharp edges? A plastic one, will it crack and break?

Thanks,

Ashley =.)|||metal if you think you might move it in the near future, otherwise if you know its going to stay put then i would go with wood. it will be easier to maintain to make it last longer, and its easier to repair if you have any problems|||metal

wood rots and requires more maintenence and it is heavy so it is hard to move

plastic does not hold up to UV light|||metal because it will last longer than plastic and wood|||Back when I was a kid...in the 70's (omg) we had a metal swing set. It is now almost 40 years later (OMG!!) and that swing set is still in my parents backyard. We played on it with all our cousins, our kids have played on it, and when my kids have their own, they will play on it too. Metal lasts forever, all you have do is paint it with rustcoat paint when it starts to rust, and it's good to go for another 10 years. It rains and snows a lot where we live, and we don't even cover it up in the winter, and that swingset is good to go in the spring. Kids have bounced all over it, used it as a jungle gym, tried to mangle Barbie on it, and nothing has ever damaged it, and it has never damaged any of us either. Go for metal. Wood needs a ton of maintenance, and plastic doesn't last AT ALL in the sun. Have fun, and good luck!

How would you fix a golf shoe to prevent swaying in a golf swing?

What is the best tennis racquet for a smooth slower swing?

You know what I'm talking about. Not something like nadals erratic swing but something similar to murrays or federers swing. I'm looking for a racquet that is pinpoint and keeps the ball in when going for power. String recomendation would also help|||Federer uses the ksixone so that may be good for you. Who has the sweetest swing in baseball today?

I still think that Abreu, Griffey and Bonds have great swings. Also why is it that lefties always seem to have a sweeter looking swing than righties?|||1. Ichiro. His swing is methodical but at the same time is a work of art. First of all, he uses his bat to split the field and analyze where the biggest gaps are. Ryan Howard has actually incorporated this method into his approach at the plate. When it comes to his actual swing, Ichiro's is the closest to perfection the game has ever seen. The bat spends more time in the zone than does any other hitter's swing in the league. Maybe the best part about his swing is that his follow through ends with him practically out of the batter's box pointed toward first base. Combined with his nearly unrivaled speed, he can think his swing for his consistent performance at the plate. I don't think he has ever finished an MLB season with fewer than 200 hits or an average below .300. He also currently holds the single season record for hits in a season. He stands head and shoulders above the rest of the league's hitters when it comes to infield hits. If the ball goes goes to the left side of the infield you can pretty much forget about throwing him out. As of right now, he is in the middle of a 13 game hitting streak. For many players, this would be considered a career highlight but it's become routine for Ichiro. In his eight pro seasons in Japan he collected 1278 hits for a .353 average. Into his seventh season in the MLB Ichiro currently has compiled 1408 hits for a career .331 average. He is currently 3 games away from his 1000th career game in the MLB, meaning he averages more than 1.4 hits per game. At the same time, he strikes out less than once every two games. He also rarely walks, meaning he puts the ball in play the majority of the time.

2. Ken Griffey. I would really love to say his is #1 because Junior is my all time favorite player but since his batting average is consistently below .270 I just can't make that argument. I will say though that nobody has a sweeter home run swing. In an era clouded by steroiids and HGH, Junior probably comes out looking better than anyone else. His home runs are usually line drive home runs. The home runs that Bonds, Sosa and McGwire used to hit were almost always big towering home runs.

So I guess the true answer really depends on whether you're talking about sweetest contact swing or sweetest home run swing. Contant is Ichiro, home run is Griffey.|||I still believe its gotta be KGjr. What a great swing!!!|||I like Adam Dunn's swing, such a power-charged one too. Robbie Cano's is great too, but i saw a highlight on a Ken Griffey Jr homerun and he became my favorite holder for a lefty swing again. He has that classic uppercut swing that is hard to not love. How can I become a more accurate swing bowler in cricket?

I am swing bowler. I am not very accurate, maybe 2 or 3 balls an over going where I aim. Is the anything i can do to improve my accuracy? I have a net once a week|||First, practice placing the seam position correctly, ie whichever way you want. Make it point towards the first slip for out swing and towards fine leg for in swing. You may ask the wicket keeper to check the correctness of your seam position while you bowl if you can't see it yourself. Keep practicing in the net session until you get this correct like 5 out of 6 times. Keeping the seam position correct it one of the most important thing in swing bowling for beginners.

It might also depend on the condition of the ball and the wind. Practicing with new ball will help more.|||Hi,

Firstly if you're really serious about this, more practice time will obviously help! More time spent in the nets will help you perfect your technique as you will start to realise what you do differently to get a lot of swing and therefore be able to use this all the time.

I would also suggest watching lots of Jimmy Anderson to get some tips as he truly is the best swing bowler in the world! A little of Graham Onions wouldn't hurt either as he's pretty good too, and will hopefully soon return to the England set-up! And even if he doesn't, Durham are always a good team to watch!!!

I hope this helps, I wouldn't call myself an expert but I watch an awful lot of Cricket so my advice may be worth something!

P.S. Getting one side of the ball as rough as possible, and the other equally smooth, will be a great help to you as well, you probably know all this already but it may be helpful! Good Luck!|||Hi Micheal

Bowling is the same as all cricket technique it takes time and lots and lots of practise. What I would suggest for you is to set markers on the wicket where you want to pitch the ball in. It is difficult without seeing you bowl, there could be various things that could be your problem

Micheal all first class bowlers only reach bowling accuracy and control at around 28. So dont get dispondent if you are much younger, but you need to practise much more than once a week, you should be practising every day. Is it possible to change a baby swing from batteries to electrical one?

is it possible to change a baby swing from batteries to electrical plug in type ,if yes how and is this safe?|||the guy b4 me sounds smart but if you want it from another point of view, this is it

batteries use (+) and (-) places to take the electricity and it uses the electrons to create heat which does the electricity thing, of course you can take out the batteries and find any plug outlet (one side to plug into the wall and the other side is cut off showing 2 wires)

if you take the 2 wires and hook the up to the (+) and (-) sides of the baby swing and plug it in, it should work

HOWEVER, batteries are low voltage, i dont remember how much but it says on the battery, 1.5 volts or something i think. The big problem is you cant use a plug for something like a baby swing because the plug outlet in the wall is 110-120 volts and the baby swing uses batteries that give 1.5-2 volts

in other words, you will burn up/break the swing|||The easiest thing to do is just get some rechargeable batteries -- NiMH type -- and a good recharger. Get several sets so you can have one or more recharging while you use one. That way you don't have to worry about the safety or wiring issues.

If you aren't very familiar with electricity, you shouldn't even consider doing this with your baby as the test subject!|||Each battery is 1.5 volts dc. Depending on the how many batteries you use will determine the adapter or power supply (measured in volts dc) you need with the proper amperage (measured in amps or milliamps).

It can be either soldered to the proper battery connections or taken apart %26amp; soldered to what ever type circuit they have- being sure to get your polarities correct. (+ %26amp; -).

I've done it with lots of my battery operated equipment here.|||Anything that runs on batteries, usually has an outlet with the amount of voltage required to operate safely that you can plug a power cord to it. For example a boombox wiht CD player, etc. If you look in the back there is a socket to plug a power cord. If it doen't requires a transformer it would say "AC". If it does require a transformer then it would say 9 volts, 12 volts or maybe 24 volts DC or AC. Some machines take low voltage AC and do the changing to DC inside. Others will only take DC input and they will be damaged is you plug anything else. If you don't have a power input socket then you will have to do a "hard wire" connection making sure that you match the required power intput. When using a transfomer, always read the data label on top of it to see if it is what you need, It will tell you the input power (always 120 VAC) and the low output voltage either AC or DC. You can determine what input you need by checking out what kind of battery arrangement you are using now. My opinion, it is not pratical.

What is the best and least expensive way to set up a wooden swing set in an unlevel yard?

We are buying a wooden swing set from a friend, so there is no manual etc....Our backyard is not so level.|||Many wooden sets are not heavy enough to be stable during use so ideally the legs should be set in concrete, or you can drive stakes into the ground and tie or bolt the legs to the stakes. How should I go about becoming a police officer when I work a swing shift.?

Not in a row though. I dont want to have to quit my job while training. Anyone have any ideas on what to do?|||Unfortunately I do believe that you WILL have to quit your job.

Most officers (at least in my state) are not permitted to work other jobs without approval from the starched shirts.

Not much chance that you will be allowed to miss TRAINING to attend your other job....furthermore, there is a huge chance that you will work a conflicting shift on the police force since some forces work 8 hour shifts...ANY 8 hour shift will conflict with other job in some way.

If you get accepted into the training class, why not go to your boss and ask for a leave of absence (non paid of course) that way if the cop thing does not work out you will have that to fall back on.|||You don't want much, do you. If you are accepted for training you WILL have to quit your present job. Most PDs require anywhere from 10 to 16 weeks of intensive trailing, and during that time you are on the payroll.

What is the smallest value of v sufficient to cause the pendulum to swing clear over the top of its arc?

A pendulum consists of a mass M hanging at the bottom end of a massless rod of length l, which has a frictionless pivot at its top end. A mass m, moving as shown in the figure with velocity v impacts M and becomes embedded.

What is the smallest value of v sufficient to cause the pendulum (with embedded mass m) to swing clear over the top of its arc?|||This is a two part problem. First you should use the conservation of energy to determine how much kinetic energy the combination of the two masses will need to supply the potential energy it will have at the top of the circle... this gives a value of v(after collision) = sqrt(2g*2l).

Then you need to do a perfectly inelastic collision problem (momentum conservation) to get the v(befor the collision of v(before collision) = (M+m)*v(after collision)/m

or substituting all the stuff...

v = 2*(M+m)*((lg)^(0.5))/m

What's the safest way to swing as a couple?

My wife brought up possibly swinging last night, and it's not that I wouldn't be for it, but I have two chief reservations, the first of which is, what is the safest way to swing? I've read that joining a community of swingers makes it safer, but I'm wondering if any of these communities would make testing mandatory. That seems safest. We are thinking of swinging with another couple, are there websites for couples that want to swing?|||I would say first find a swingers club. They are in most states. There you have like minded people. Attend several sessions, ake friends, get social. Once you find a couple after several visits that seem mutually compatable start with soft swinging then move up as you get comfortable. Make sure everyone uses condoms.|||There are Saunders websites as well as craigslist but each has pitfalls. Clubs can be just as problematic, but you need to figure out if you want several couples, guys, women, swapping etc. What are the ground rules you have set. From there you can decide and what I might suggest is to interview others and require regular testing as well.

Make sure you have no jealousy issues, total trust, always arrive and leave as a couple and you will find it great. I love my wife, but enjoy sex w others as well and watching her w others.|||The only true way to safe is to use a condom, or insist on one being used. Most just take the chance with a little get to knowing the other party. Adultfriendfinder has all you can handle as far as finding others. Get the silver membership instead of gold, and you'll be amazed... Good Luck!!

How do I clean white nylon straps on baby swing?

I am cleaning my daughter's old baby swing and the straps are not removable. They are white, nylon straps and the front part of the straps look like they are stained yellow. We are reusing the swing, and I needed to know the best way to clean the straps. The only thing I can come up with is a bleach/water mixture and letting the straps soak. Thanks!|||Actually your best bet is soap and water....and since you are cleaning something that cannot be tossed into the washing machine, I would use Shaving Cream and water.

Dampen the straps with water. Scrub them with Shaving Cream...any brand is fine as long as it鈥檚 white shaving cream. Then clean with damp cloths.

Shaving cream is nothing but whipped soap that rinses out easily. The last thing you want to use on an item that is not removable is a sudsy soap...you'd never get the suds out. Shaving Cream cleans like magic and then rinses easily.

Plus, it is non-toxic. Very important around your baby.

-|||i have a white sateen in my bedroom my mom gave me. when she gave it to me, she had pinned a throw blanket on it to cover spots and stains. if you use bleach, unfortunately too high of a concentration will yellow the nylon more than it was before. the best item i have found is oxi clean. put some powder in a bowl with water. then take a rag or a toothbrush depending on what you perfere and scrub as much out as you can. just so you know, oxi clean does most of it's work while it's drying, so if you don't notice a huge difference at first, that's okay. let it dry, and if necessary repeat. it should be taken care of within 2 washings. good luck!|||I would use a Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser and wipe down the straps real good then wipe down with water to remove any chemicals.|||Yes, bleach/water mixture would be good but make sure the only bleach you use is Milton (on anything that children touch) :)

At what age did you start using a swing with your baby? Is it something we should leave packed up in the beginning or do you start using it within the first month or two? Thanks.|||I started him in a swing about a month old. You just have to support his head with blankets on each side, they like the swing and it gives you a break. its a lifesaver.|||I put my son in his swing the very first day we brought him home. He has one of those cradle n swing ones that let him almost lay down in it so I didn't have to worry about him slumping over or anything. If you have a regular swing just roll blankets around your baby and that should hold the baby in place...if it doesn't seem like its working then wait until they are bigger and try again.|||We first used a swing with our son when he was maybe a week old. He didn't tolerate it for long, so it didn't get much use for the first two months. Then at about two and a half months he started wanting to be held a little less and started spending more time in the swing. Now at 3 months he spends about 20-30 minutes in it 3-4 times a week while I fold laundry or cook dinner or do other chores.|||You can start using it right away. It's a great tool to keep them occupied or help them fall asleep.

For the first few weeks, you might have to roll up some blankets and put them on the baby's sides to keep them supported.|||I used it oin the first week...probably 3 times a week around 10 minutes. Should the golf swing be led by the shoulders or the lower body?

My golf instructor has taught me to lead the swing with the shoulders, but I have heard other golf pros saying that the swing should be led by the lower body and the shoulders should follow. Which is correct? To me, it feels more natural to lead with the twisting of the lower body.|||I think that there is really two actions that initiate the golf swing. They are the 'pulling' down by the upper body/shoulders and the start of the rotation of the hips. In order for a golfer to hit the ball nearly facing the target line, the hips have to be cleared. This _requires_ that the hips move ahead of (or at minimum) faster than the shoulders. Since the latter is almost impossible to pull off, the former is the solution. The hips lead the body rotation.

Personally, If I lead with my upper body, nasty, nasty stuff happens... If I lead with the hips and pull the club down into the slot, beauty can be achieved. As a previous tennis and baseball player... The actions are almost identical to golf and in those sports the hips also lead first. As mentioned before this increases the torque release (spring) in the rotation, and builds the lag needed for the release to 'catch' up with the rest of the inertia developed in the swing.

Wow, that got technical in a hurry.|||The downswing is initiated with the lower body. The arms and club just follow through.

The earlier the weight transfer back to finish, the more distance you will have.

it's physics....I recommend watching a Ben Hogan video on youtube....

|||Jono..Golf is an action and reaction game which means simply that you intentionally perform an action that will produce the desired reaction. In golf you perform certain movements in sequence during the back swing to produce the desired sequence during the downswing. The last thing that moves during the back swing would be the left heel whether it comes off the ground or not. The planting of the left heel begins the downswing as a reaction and the rest of the lower body simply follows suit in the sequence that you were forced to follow. Having said that it is quite possible to feel that you can control the swing with an unwinding of the shoulders in a way of covering the ball but you can't really make a move without starting from the bottom up. Your instructor is not leading you astray but sometimes a little more information can be a good thing.|||well i was always taught to lead with your shoulder but i started working at a country club and met some players on tour like the nationwide or korean or Japanese and after talking to them and playing a couple rounds with them they some time gave me a lesson or two and they have always told me to led with my hips. because when leading with your shoulder you can over extend you body and cause yourself to slice the ball but by leading with your hips it causes you coil your body and generate all the energy you have and if you time it right and go into your downswing and follow with your hips and have everything connecting as one you will see your ball striking and swing plain all on target. but it takes alot of practice and patience.|||Well it depends in full swings it should be lead with thhe lower body, but when there are approach shots it should be more of an upper body swing that is why you should open your stance, because when you open your stance it is like haveing your lower body cleared out of the way|||You would be correct. If you watch any golfer on tour, they lead with their lower body. Reason? Because power is stored from torque, generated from a large shoulder turn and a limited hip turn. Then at the top of the swing, your hips must turn and lead the way to clear out for the upper body.|||I believe the back swing is based upon the upper part of your body turning in unison, with the upper body leading the legs with the right leg in a state of tension. The downswing is led by the lower half of the body leading the upper half.|||Both the upper body and lower body have to work in unison for the golf swing to be useful. Planting the lead foot is the start of the whole process for the down swing. If you prefer to swing flat footed the upper and lower body still have to swing as one.|||i've taught golf for 11years now . i can hear myself repeatively telling my students that the golf swing is an upper body rotation. the legs are there for your stability and balance. consider your shoulders to be the engine of the golf swing.

What is the best way to stay planted during a golf swing?

The way i swing, I tend to bend into my weight shift and then I over correct it and top the ball. I have no idea on how to fix it. Also, i have a wicked slice!|||Swing within yourself. A lot of people who have this problem are over swinging and most likely have a reverse pivot. Also a factor could be swinging too upright. Learn the proper foot work. Just like in tennis, bowling, baseball, etc. There must be a weight transfer to the left side at, or just before impact. It's actually the first move forward once you've completed the back swing. The left hip initiates the forward swing. With a move parallel to the target line. You should end up in the follow through position with all of your weight on the outside of the left foot and up on your right toe. Hold that position until the ball hits the ground. You will develop tempo/rhythm. You can do it. Good luck!|||keep your weight on ur back foot during your backswing then transfer the weight to the front on impact..you might be doing the reverse..which is called a reverse pivot..to fix ur slice..you are prolly coming over the top..try to swing to the inside more|||First, make sure you have a proper grip. If you put a tee between the thumb and forefinger of your top hand, it should be perpendicular to the ground. When you address the ball, make sure it is no farther ahead than the inside of your left heel, and no further back than the middle of your stance. Concentrate on clearing your left hip and shooting your right hip through as you swing. There's a lot of timing involved, and it sounds like you might be getting "ahead of the ball". At impact, your belt buckle should be 45 degrees from your target line, and when you finish, it should be facing the target line. Also, don't concentrate so much on shifting your weight as pivoting in place. If you pay attention to your timing/tempo, the weight transfer should take care of itself.|||don't swing so hard. it's easier to make corrections on a smoother, slower swing.|||DO NOT put your weight on your back foot during the backswing. This causes a slice very badly! weight should stay 50-50 on the backswing. Your head should NOT move on your back swing. Flex your front knee foward and your back knee back. Swing foward putting your weight on your front foot but KEEPING your head back. A slice is also caused by breaking your wrists too much. If in your backswing you look in mirror and see that the club is coming close to your left shoulder on your backswing, you are breaking your wrists too much. There are many other things that need to be accounted for that can only be taught by a good experienced golf instructor. If you are topping the ball often you are uncocking your wrists too soon and lifting up.|||I read book on Jack Niklaus stand, and it suggests you keep your weight on the inside foot of each of your feet. That way you can keep the balance after impact.|||The best way is to find a teaching Pro then he will tell you what you have done wrong. But I think you should swing a bit slower and feel which part has the ball impact into your club face.

HAPPY GOLFING!
