How to repair baby swing damaged by battery corrosion?

I have my 3 year old's baby swing that is in great condition and I would like to use with baby #2, however I forgot to take the batteries out and now there is a bunch of battery acid and corrosion in the battery chamber. I tried cleaning it up a little, but the swing won't work. If I clean it with baking soda, will that help? Or is it ruined for good?|||The baking soda is an all around good idea. The auto parts store and some department stores have a spray battery cleaner, it works wonders. Take it outside spray it down then rinse with regular water, let it dry completely before putting in new batteries.

I'd give it a try, couldn't hurt.|||Clean it with a cotton swab soaked in coca cola.|||Electronics cleaner. This stuff is great for more things than anyone knows and is well worth having around.
