|||Most building supply stores (like Lowe's) will carry a porch swing seasonally. You can also find them at a variety of other places, like some restaurants, truck stops, etc.
Most of these type of swings are about 4 feet wide, but you need to check the weight restriction....I often find them rated too low to safely hold 2 adults.
I would suggest that you look around your neighborhood, town, etc.. watch the news ads, etc... and see if you can find a local craftsman who can make one for you from scratch. That way you can have one made to fit you, to your specifications. Many folks will want a sturdier swing than is commercially available, or changes in some measurements to make it more comfortable, etc. Anyone who can make picnic tables, adirondack chairs, etc, could make a porch swing.
Just an additional note.... for a porch swing, I strongly recommend sturdy bracing from the roof. If it is at all possible, I recommend installing a couple of cross braces, to spread the support out to at least 2 rafters/trusses, and I like to use a bracket that runs thru, or over the beam, rather than drilling into it. This results in a much, much stronger anchor for the swing. Often, you can access the 'attic' area of the porch thru the home's attic, but you can also go right thru the porch 'ceiling' material, if you need to. I'd rather build in too much support, than run the risk of not having enough, and have someone get hurt.
If you go with a 'glider' type of swing, you'll probably want to shim under at least one side... most porche floors do slant towards the front, to help drainage.
Another alternative is the "yard swing" which has become pretty easy to find at stores like WalMart over the last few years. These are usually steel frames/cloth seats, and may come with an adjustable awning.
Good Luck|||I saw one in the Brookstone catalog last month that came to my door. They are pricey in that magazine, but you may try to shop online first and find that Target or Walmart chain stores carry them and you can sometimes get free shipping for orders over %26lt; $$. or you can drive and go get it. Some stores also have a policy where the manager will ship it to their own store you are talking to get the sale. I have had that done for patio table and matching chair. They just want the sale and since they are getting stuff delivered by truck anyway. . .|||a hardware store would be able to help you like bunnings, even EBAY
you will have to make sure you can securely brace the swing to roof of your verandah ...
i am not sure how many people could fit on one, most of them just come with weight measurements|||A place even cheaper than Wallyworld (walmart) is Harbor Freight. They sell lots of el-cheapo stuff. You could also check craigslist but be careful of crooks there as I tried to sell my motorhome real cheap and some idiot sent me a counterfeit check.|||From many sites:
