We have had the same problem for years. We have also replaced the canopy every 3 or so years because sun light destroys the fabric.
We could have a replacement made at an awning shop, an upholstery shop, and a place that makes curtains. All would charge an arm. Some an arm and a leg. And others two arms, etc.
We found suitable fabric at a fabric store.
We used the old canopy as the pattern and (even though we are not seamstresses) made a replacement canopy. The first one was not really an example of craftsmanship, but it wasn't bad. The next one was better. Our neighbor talked sweet and we made one for them. We're getting better and saving a bunch of money in the process. PS: the second one easier. :-)|||try www.gardenwinds.com. I bought a replacement canopy from them and I love it. the quality of the fabric is superb.
